The public record
Writing without total exposure.
Projects, beliefs, difficult lessons and ideas that are still changing. Private records remain private.
Functioning is not the same as being fine
People can work, joke, argue and make plans while privately struggling to stay stable.
I do not fit inside a neat political label
I care more about mechanisms, power and outcomes than political branding.
Privacy is not suspicious behaviour
A society should not require innocent people to prove they deserve a private life.
Digital ownership should mean something
Buying something should provide more than temporary access controlled by somebody else.
Software should admit that it can fail
Reliability is a plan for failure, not a claim that failure is impossible.
Build the alternative
Criticism becomes useful when it has to survive the problems a real replacement faces.
